GARDEN BLOGGERS' MUSE DAY

When the April wind wakes the call of the soil,

I hold the plough as my only hold upon the earth,

And, as I follow through the fresh and fragrant furrow,

I am planted with every footstep ;

growing, budding, blooming,

into a spirit of Spring.

  1. This Spring

    The birds won't sing,

    The flowers won't bud,

    There'll be no rain or mud.

    Grass won't turn green,

    Toads won't be seen,

    Ice won't melt on stream or pool

    April Fool!

  4. I've just posted for Muse Day. We've anticipated Spring for so long, it's wonderful to be watching its arrival in the shape of green growing plants in our gardens! http://yardisgreen.blogspot.com/2008/04/spring-is.html

  5. Hello. Our GBMD post is up. Last week we got snow twice, sleet, hail and thunder. It's incredibly rare that we get thunder. We're in serious need of some spring spirit around here!

  11. So great. And I was just as happy to welcome in April this morning. It may be rainy, dank, and dreary but you know what, it's still april and with the rain and dampness comes beauty, colours and life... Shine on!

    Thanks for the lovely poem. I didn't know that 'Skunk Cabbage ' was the state flower? It used to be the marigold.
