You could be right about dogs being an effective deterrent unless they're outside 24/7 but thus far I haven't seen that rascal rabbit again so maybe I should package that Schnauzer fur and sell it !Sweet Home and Garden Carolinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08026451200405491815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516540452021706712.post-6682945056331037772007-10-25T18:42:00.000-06:002007-10-25T18:42:00.000-06:00My sympathies on having a resident rabbit! I've found that a combination of chicken wire & red pepper wax or repellant spray is effective in limiting (but not completely eliminating) the damage. I had a Beagle/Terrier mix & a Borzoi patrolling my garden, & they never caught an adult rabbit. I don't think a dog is an effective deterrent unless it's outside all day & all night.Mr. McGregor's Daughterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05911409327006498766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516540452021706712.post-47468398064094490832007-10-23T18:11:00.000-06:002007-10-23T18:11:00.000-06:00Unfortunately, Robin, bunnies are a HUGE problem i...Unfortunately, Robin, bunnies are a HUGE problem in the city and suburbs because their habitats are being destroyed and they have no place to go. I planted a garden for a client one Fall and the following Spring it was eaten to the ground by rabbits. They even ate the Mugo Pine !

Our major park in downtown Chicago, Grant Park, had over $50,000 of plants destroyed and they had to resort to giving the rabbits birth control pills!

Now that Jojo has smelled and seen the rabbit , the first thing she does is search for it.Sweet Home and Garden Carolinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08026451200405491815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516540452021706712.post-47668991501872045332007-10-23T14:23:00.000-06:002007-10-23T14:23:00.000-06:00Hopefully JoJo will be just the deterrent you need...Hopefully JoJo will be just the deterrent you need to keep the bunny out of your yard. I then cover it up and hope they move on. But don't listen to me, I've still got a rabbit problem.

Carol at May Dreams GardensCarol Michelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07796344366326535406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7516540452021706712.post-64237764406574358332007-10-22T17:20:00.000-06:002007-10-22T17:20:00.000-06:00I hope so too, Kim.
