LOVE the autumn moon maple, Carolyn; I'm just cold-testing some Japanese maple seedlings this year, and maybe next year I'll add a larger tree. Your Limelight is gorgeous--well, so are everything that's still blooming.

ReplyDeleteI love that Little Lemon Goldenrod, I'm adding it to my 'want' list of plants. That's what I like about Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, we find out about flowers that we don't have but could have.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting for GBDD again this month.

Thanks, Carol. You're sure to love it for it's cheerful lemon color and long blooms.
ReplyDeleteHope you're successful in finding your tree. Lots of nurseries and garden centers are short on good selections this time of year.
I love your collection of mums. I'm going to try and find the Claire Curtis. I love pinks in the garden and this is one I'd love to have.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Carol, the Little Lemon is a fantastic looking plant. All of your pictures are so lovely and you surely have a lot of color going on. I just love how the light is at this time of the year. The Rhumba mum is also a very pleasing color too.
ReplyDeleteNice group of blossoms, Carolyn - the long autumn is letting your garden look so lush for October. And oh, that Autumn Moon maple.

That Rhumba mum is great! I love the sweet autumn clematis, I need to get some of that, too!
ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn, you have a delightful collection of blooms, all in stunning colours! But your Chinese Lantern made me smile! I've seen it for the first time. I'm off to google it to know more.
ReplyDeleteRobin, you can't go wrong with long-blooming Claire Curtis Mum.
ReplyDeleteAlyssa, I'm so pleased with my two newest additions, the Rhumba and Bolero mums and I think you will, too.
Muum, the fragrance alone of Sweet Autumn Clematis is a wonderful addition to any garden.
Annie, I'm so glad I bought that Autumn Moon Maple when I did - it's now hard to find ! I was surprised at how hardy it's been in the Chicago winters. The color and shapes of its leaves are just awesome.
green thumb : Welcome to Sweet Home and Garden Chicago. The Chinese Lanterns, although annuals, will return and even colonize. You really have to watch them or they'll take over. Florists use them in Fall arrangements.
Your rumba mum is so beautiful! Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy. It adds a lot of cheer to the Autumn garden.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn,
ReplyDeleteI love everything you have in bloom, but I especially love the Maple you posted last. At the arboretum last weekend I sat under a similar type Maple and felt at home. If I happen to pass a lovely October garden, then I'll know it must be your place ;)
Thanks, Rosemarie. I adore the Autumn Moon maple myself.
