  3. Hey, good for you to have anything to share for this month! I like the pink too.

  4. Hi Carolyn,

Your indoor garden looks good - Carol was right - you did need some flowering plants inside!

It may not equal an Alabama January but flowers are always welcome, aren't they?

    Happy Blooming Day,

    Annie at the Transplantable Rose

  6. Flowers are indeed always welcome, Annie. Alabama's not so bad in January, at least compared to Chicago, but Austin must be a whole lot warmer ( with exception of last January and other such unusual storms ).

Thanks, Muum. The peace lily is certainly an easy to grow houseplant.

  7. Spidey Plant, Spidey Plant, does the things that a Cactus can't. Sorry, I'm just comparing my pathetic indoor plants with yours. I think my Spidey needs fertilizer; it hasn't bloomed in months. Your plants are very cheery-looking in the middle of January.

  9. You are growing quite a collection of indoor plants and quite successfully, it appears. You are a natural at it. Time to get some more!

  10. Thanks for sharing your blooms today. I like the geranium especially. I moved my outside geranium indoors for the winter and I think it wants to bloom eventually - maybe for February Bloom Day?

  11. Your indoor plants look great, Carolyn. I especially love the spider plant, but I no longer have one because the little catchildren think they are divine; and no matter where I put the plant, the cats found ways to get at them and chew on them. They are devious little children by times....

  12. Hi Carolyn,

Any flower in winter has a special beauty, I figure. I have never been able to get a spider plant to bloom ... that is really good!

  13. Thanks, Carol. I'm waiting to see if I kill any of my current plants before buying more because space is so limited.

Jodi, from what I know Geraniums are not that eager to bloom after their fantastic summer performance.

    Hi Kate,

You're so right about any plant in winter having special beauty. I find my Spider plant is quite happy indoor or out.

  14. Pink blooms, oh yes indeed, and such lovely blooms too. My kittycats love the spider plant so I grow many of them and every now and again I give one to my cats so they can eat it. I've hung mine in the conservatory where the cats can't reach it. ;-)

    Happy blooming day!

  15. Thanks, yolanda elizabet. Spider plants as cat food ?! That's funny, but I know they love to eat greens. I'll be over to see your splendid winter garden.

  16. The pale pink Anthuriums are very nice. It's amazing that you can get indoor plants to bloom. Our orchid are setting buds but nary a bloom from our other indoor plants.

  17. Anthuriums , is that what the pink peace lily is called ? I'm new to the interior garden and don't know the Latin names for them yet.

My daughter is the indoor plant expert and she tells me the most important things are : Light, proper watering and a light dose of fertilizer. She's got over 100 indoor plants !

  18. I wish I liked indoor plants more. I forget to care for them, and they die of neglect. I do have a couple of pots of bulbs and some free plants given to me after the freeze. I'm trying to keep them alive.

Love your indoor garden. Happy Bloom Day!

  19. I don't think I've seen a pink Peace lily before. It's so much prettier than the white, of course I'm partial to pink flowers anyway.

  20. Hi Robin,

You haven't seen a pink peace lily before - my daughter, the indoor gardener, corrected me today, saying that it looks like a "peace lily " but is actually, an anthirium , as Ki from Mucknmire pointed out.

    Hi Dee,

This is my first attempt at indoor gardening so I'll see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by.
