MEMOIRS MEME IN SIX WORDS

Jojo's first visit to Alabama

I've been tagged by fellow Alabamian Debi at www.giraffeheadtree.blogspot.com to post my memoirs in six words.

Summing up memoirs in such a short sentence is not an easy thing for me because I have so many different interests and passions. I've come up with six sentences containing six words, but I need help in picking one .

First, I thought :

God was the first master gardener.

Then I came up with :

Old woman, but a young gardener.

Then I thought, nah, what about :

Gardeners have tough rows to hoe.

-or these -:

I dream of May in December.

Gardeners don't die, they spade away .

You should've been here last week.

So whadda ya' think.? All six could do but which one should I settle on? Help me out here people !

  4. Thanks, Ingar for casting your vote.
It does seem that when you have visitors the garden looked better last week, thus the popular saying.

  9. Being a master gardener, I like your first one - "God was the first master gardener!" However, haven't we all said the last? Yes, and often! Thanks for playing, dear! Debi @ GHT

  10. "You should've been here last week..."gets my vote. Seems to me that the garden is always loveliest the week BEFORE guests are due to arrive!

  11. Well the votes are getting close between " I dream of May in December " and " You should've been here last week. " Thanks for dropping by becca. And you're right, the garden is always better before visitors get to see it.

  12. I left my comment before I read all the others. I thought the "should've been here last week..." was isolated to my garden. Now I see that it is a universal conundrum!

  13. Sorry, just passing by, but if you're sticking with what you've been asked for (memoirs in 6 words) then there is really one appropriate phrase:

Old woman, but a young gardener.

All the others are amusing/clever, some about gardeners in general, some cryptic, some about what you think. But they don't convey much about who you are!

  17. God was the first master gardener, is my choice if you are still taking votes. I like the May one too.

I'm new here, trying to start my page and got caught up reading. Marie
