Since losing my Marie Viburnum I have been looking for 4 very good specimens .
I've been hankering for a Daphne 'carol mackie ' for some time now but could never find one that looked that great. Apparently they aren't very happy in containers and as a result look rather sparce. I happened to run across a very impressive one a few days ago and snatched it up.
Here she is :
And this is what her flowers look like :
And did I mention that they are not only pretty but fragrant as well ? Carol blooms in the Spring and then again in the Fall and her foliage is beautiful all season long.
Since she is very young I'll call her Princess Carol. I have enough room for three more pretenders to the throne of the late Queen Marie.
Hi! This is a beautiful viburnum. You are also providing for birds! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am posting my Muse Day post a bit early. I'll be driving by Chicago on I-80 early Friday... on the way to Michigan. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for reminding me that it'll have berries for the birds as well. Thanks for posting for Muse day. Have a great weekend yourself.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess is quite nice. I am glad you presented her to the court. I have never seen this one before. I hope she does well for you. Varigation, berries and fragrance all rolled into one sounds like a winner to me.
