GARDEN BLOGGERS' SOON TO BE BLOOMS DAY

Signs of Life in the March garden

March hasn't been so windy as it has been wet. The two concrete planters in my collage above caught at least 4 or more inches of rain. The ground is still saturated and many areas have been flooded.

The soon to be blooms above are daffodils, hyacinth, dwarf iris, euphorbia, sedum and bergenia. I have tulips also emerging but I've covered them up because I know that we're likely to have another freeze or two. Lessons learned when I got caught in an April snow storm with sandals on. Ouch!

Go visit Carol at May Dreams Gardens and see what's blooming or about to be in their neck of the woods.

  3. No tulips blooming in NC yet but the daff's are gowing strong. The weeping cherries and magnolias are opened and what a sight!

We are getting rain and lots of it. About a week of rain in the forecast. This clay soil cant handle it either. everything is puddled and squishy! ugh

  5. Wonderful bloom day pics. I wish I were in the complaining about soggy yard phase of spring. I'm still snowed in. Here's hoping I get that much hoped for rain storm to free us from acres of ice and snow.

  8. Thank you for reminding me that I'm not crazy! I can get pretty excited about Spring's arrival... so excited that raking off the Winter mulch looks like a good idea. However, you're right! There are often April freezes, and I'm always glad I Haven't Raked everything until after those threats are gone. :-)
