It's my daughter Cathy's fault. She started it all with her indoor collection of sedum and cacti, which I fell for. She has more than a hundred potted plants.
She's given me cuttings from her plants and I've purchased several kinds of hens and chicks. I've hardly ever bothered with potted plants because of the maintenance involved but since I'm at home this summer I've enjoyed them.
I'll have to come up with some sort of indoor greenhouse to over winter them because our house is so close to the neighbors that most of the natural light, with few exceptions, is blocked.
Nice looking Cactuses and succulents you got there ma!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, the turtle is fantastic, and I love your collection of sedum and cacti.
ReplyDeleteI'm regretting not picking up a prickly pear cactus at Gethsemane yesterday.
I've added more sedum this year and like them. Our prickly pear cactus is blooming so pretty right now. That turtle topiary is very cool looking.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, I can think of no better plants for pots than these. Your collection is fabulous! :-)

What a fun collection you have. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy. Guess moms can learn a lot from their daughters, eh ?
ReplyDeleteHey Linda and thanks. Sedums are very trendy right now but I've always liked them and they are very drought tolerant, which is a plus for a potted plant.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna. I love my turtle and the sedum does really well on it.
ReplyDeletePrickly pears are so pretty aren't they?
Thanks, Francis. Sedums are indeed the best in a pot. I'm enjoying learning more about the different varieties .
ReplyDeleteReally nice collection you got here Carolyn.
