GARDEN BLOGGERS' MUSE DAY

"Wisteria woke me this morning,

And there was all June in the garden;

I felt them, early, warning

Lest I miss any part of the day.

Straight I walked to the trellis vine.

Wisteria touched a lifted nostril:

Feelings of beauty diffused, to entwine

My spirit with June's own aura."

  1. Your wisteria is amazing. Bet it took a lot of patience for it to get this big and beautiful. Today, I've mused about the lowly rose, which also has a bit of charm to some.

  2. Lovely, your wisteria, long finished blooming here.

    I finally remembered that the first is Muse Day.

  4. Hi Carolyn,
    Oh yes, I love my wisteria as well..and now I have your poem to enjoy along with its ethereal blooms.

    I've posted a poem of hope...a poem about rain after a drought by an Irish poet. We've had over 120 days without a good rain.

  5. Carolyn, I didn't even know one could GROW wisteria this far north! You must have a very secluded spot?

  6. Thanks all. Shady, it's a Chinese Wisteria and is hardy in zone 5.

  7. We too have wisteria, the same variety at my mother-in-laws, zone 5. Every year it brings the grace and beauty along her fence as in your image. It really is an old plant and I hope when they move on, whoever gets the property, leaves the wisteria in place.
