It ain't no use to grumble and complain;
It's jest as cheap and easy to rejoice,
When God sorts out the weather and sends rain,
why rain's my choice
-James Whitcomb Riley, 1849-1916
June has given us very little rain and extremely hot July-like weather. The garden is extremely dry and I have to water every other day just to keep the plants alive.It's jest as cheap and easy to rejoice,
When God sorts out the weather and sends rain,
why rain's my choice
-James Whitcomb Riley, 1849-1916
But two days ago God must have heard the prayers of many people asking for rain because the heavens opened up and we got 4 inches in 45 minutes ! The ground absorbed the rain, of course, but expressways, streets and basements were flooded in some areas. You people can stop praying now !
The rain cooled the temperatures until the next day when the steam-bath continued. Another heavy downpour in the evening. The garden is very happy.
Today is going to be a perfect June day in the 70's and I am going to get outside and enjoy it.
Love the quote from our Hoosier poet, Riley. So fitting these days.
