GARDEN BLOGGERS' MUSE DAY

Land Girls Hoeing

We go in withering July to ply the hard incessant hoe;

Panting beneath the brazen sky

We sweat and grumble, but we go

  15. I definitely sweat and gripe during July. The hoe is usually leaned up on the side of the house. Too hot to hoe.

    I love this picture. It brings to mind a print of a Van Gough that I kept in the laundry room for years of two women ironing and they were deifinitely sweating. No ac back then.

  19. Hi Carolyn:

    Love the painting...just love it!
    I did up a Muse Day post last night (it was also Canada Day yesterday) and while it's not so much about the garden, it's certainly about Muses.

  20. Carolyn.

    Had a few moments tonight and wanted to stop by and thank you for inquiring about me and tracking me down. Your kindness means a lot.

  25. I'm afraid our July is going to be withering, thought this first day is much cooler than all of June - below 90! You'll find my Muse Day post at http://ginnysgarden.blogspot.com/2010/07/breath-flash-moment.html
