The Gardener
by Moi
Acrylic on Canvas
More eloquent than the art of poets or musicians are the actions of millions of ordinary mortals who immerse themselves more and more in their gardens for the only peace they know. Only in their gardens are they taken out of themselves, beyond themselves, above themselves, in their earthly paradise.
-Lucinda Lambton

I like your April 1 muse. The garden can definitely be a place where we are taken out, beyond and above ourselves. And I also rid the month of March a good riddance! This is my first GBMD and I look forward to all the good reading.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! I'm still hoping today's weather forecast will prove to be an April Fools' joke. The WWWs have something up for GBMD.
ReplyDeleteLove the painting but especially love the Lucinda Lambton quote. How true. Guess I've officially 'joined' something here as I have just posted my first poem. Yes, good riddance to March.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for joining the poetry circle. I tried to leave comments on everyone's blog but wasn't able to on some. I don't know if that's due to the virus worry or not.
ReplyDeleteI really like your choice for a Muse Day post, and the painting seems to typify all gardeners. My post is finally up, now.

Amen Carolyn! Gorgeous painting, and I love the quote. Good riddance March! April is most welcome.
ReplyDeleteI always admire those with the patience and ability to cultivate a garden. I have managed to keep 1 plant alive for nearly 8 months now and it is my pride enjoy. Perhaps one day I will try for 2.
ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn, Thank you so much for identifying the author of my quote--none other than Abraham Lincoln. Wow, I didn't know that--I had read it somewhere but had no reference of where it originated from. I have added it to the post and have given you credit for identifying it:-)
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend, I love nature too. Don't forget to visit my blog. you and all of your friends are invited. I really appreciate your support. Thanks...
