Mother Robin sets up nest in the Pergola Mother Robin was observing the humans below as they chatted merrily away under the Spring sunshine. She must've decided that we're ok people because she hasn't acted disturbed in the least.
Not only does she get free room and board but I've thrown in some meals for her and a bird bath with water is just steps away. She's also protected from the wind and rain.
It will be fun to watch the eggs hatch and the little ones grow until they fly away.
That will be fun...I would love to have a robin move closer to the porch so we could see her and the offspring! gail
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!!!!
ReplyDeletethat is so sweet - what a lovely reminder for going into spring. looks like she's very comfortable there, what a blessing!
ReplyDeletelooks like i have lotsa catching up to do here ~ you've been posting away.
hope you + yours have been well. Happy Spring to you Caroline! ;-)
Cute bird Ma, what a free loader that robin is! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour pergola sounds to be the perfect place for Mother Robin to set up a nursery.
ReplyDeleteHave fun watching your birdies. Our finches on my wreath just flew the coop. Mom and Dad are looking at our porch for another spot to nest.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to have birds nesting near the house. Barn swallows used to come back every year to the mud nest over our shed spotlight, but one year the ice took it down, and the swallows found a new home.
ReplyDeleteAw, she looks so cute patiently nesting there with just her head peaking over the side of the nest. Enjoy your new boarder Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Love watching nesting birds ... a perfect post for this special day, Carolyn! With warm thoughts for a lovely Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treat to be able to watch baby robins! We have robins but not that often, maybe because the scrubjays claimed my garden years ago? We just had the special privilege of watching baby scrubjays only two feet from the kitchen window, in a nest in a big bush. (I don't know what it is, but tall enough to bear witness!) They just fledged, which always makes me nervous, but I hear them out back in the morning in the mulberry and fig trees! ENJOY!
