Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent and soft and slow
Descends the snow.
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent and soft and slow
Descends the snow.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
lovely painting and poem Carolyn. I love Longfellow. Looks like we'll be getting our first real snow this week. This morning I woke to a light dusting - a preview of what's to come!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with your snow! We are still waiting... Last year, it was December 19th when we had tons of snow. Lovely little poem. Thank you Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteIt's not my fault, honest, Carolyn! I don't want to see you come down with a case of the epatoozies already.
ReplyDeletelove them. I am hoping we get a snow here this year.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem. I see from the weather news here in the UK that there's a big winter storm heading your way. Hope you manage to dig yourself out OK!
ReplyDeleteThat is bootiful! We haven't gotten snow yet and I'm all dissapointed about it. It's magical here.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave a comment. There are Cork people all over the globe! One of my daughters worked as an au pair in Chicago some years ago and loved it as she was with a terrific family who were very good to her. She stayed a year and returned home but always speaks well of the people she met while living in the windy city.
ReplyDeleteI like your poems and pictures, I hope you don't get too much snow1
It's me again. Of all the comments I've received this week about blogging, yours made me both laugh and cry. Thank you so much, Carolyn, for your huge heart and your support. It means a great deal to me.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone and excuse my short note of thanks. Blame it on the Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Peggy from Cork, Ireland! So glad you dropped by.
Jodi, for the first time I'm speechless! What a nice thing to say :-) I do like to make people laught and cry that way it gets all that emotional stuff out which is SO good for 'ya!
If I want snow I have to travel to it! Must be nice to enjoy a change of season. Not complaining but the rain we've been having lately in LA is a God-send. Snow must be awesome.
