GARDEN BLOGGERS' BLOOM DAY

How many of you still have your Pointsettas from Christmas? Mine has outgrown its 4 inch pot and as you can see has put out a lot of new growth. All credit to the grow light.

In just 5 days from now, Saturday, March 20th to be exact, Spring will come to Chicago at 12:32 p.m. From this day forth light and dark will be equal. New life and growth will begin.

Today I went in search of Spring, for flowers to display for our monthly Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day sponsored by Carol of May Dreams Gardens . Despite the past few days of Spring-like weather there were no blooms in sight.

Alas, I searched for Spring elsewhere . Here inside Sweet Garden Chicago :

This beautiful Oncidium blooms from Spring til Fall

This gorgeous Phalaenopsis
has been blooming for several weeks now

It's Spring at the Chicago Flower and Garden show

The first flowers of Spring : Daffodils

And its Spring all year long with these whimsical flowers that need
no water or sun. This is a shot of one of my neighbors front yards.

  1. I'm not one for lawn ornaments, but the photo of your neighbor's whimsical flowers made me smile. My mother is a big believer in decorating the yard/garden with anything plastic and colorful.

    Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day.

  2. I love seeing the fantasy gardens of Garden shows, where anything can bloom with everything else. I love greenhouse tours, too.

  3. Sometimes we have to look for spring. Even with crocus and dafs opening up here...it's nothing like last year at this time. Soon Chicago and your garden will be gorgeous. gail

  4. Happy Bloom Day, Carolyn. Sorry you’ve no blooms outdoors at the moment. We only really have crocus but they do make me smile :-D

I absolutely love your indoor blooms, I do like orchids. I also enjoyed your garden show pics… a lovely sea of daffodils. Nope, no Pointsettas here. Yours is looking well though :-D

  7. That Oncidium is gorgeous! I'm going to have to stop by Gethsemane soon and see what kind of orchids they have that I may not know I need.
