Meanwhile in my indoor garden a lonely Christmas cactus has produced one bloom and the Pointsetta still thrives under the grow light. Soon trays of sprouting seeds will take up most of the space.
I visit the blogs of my Southern friends to see what Spring, which has been in swing there for a month already, has brought them. My daughter sends me pictures of the trees in bloom in North Carolina. Later this week Spring weather will visit Chcago for a day or so with promises of temperatures in the 60's.
For winter-weary Chicagoans Spring is as "slow as molasses in January " but for now we see hopeful signs.

Hey Houston! Is everything blooming down there, David? I know the dogwoods have been blooming throughout the South, a scene I dearly miss. The redbuds are among the earliest blooming trees here in Chicago and I can't wait to see them.
ReplyDeleteThe Chicago show was definitely a welcome breath of spring for all of us who visited. Hang in there, Carolyn; I have tulip and daffodils popping up through the soil--spring can't be too far away for us Midwesterners.

ReplyDeleteI too am a visitor each GBBD because, like you, we have little to see even budding. I was at a client's garden today, and they were so thrilled to see teeny tiny buds on the trees. You almost needed a magnifying glass. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHopefully spring is just around the corner for you! I have never attending the Chicago Garden show but looks like it is an awesome event and much needed in the throws of a Chicago winter.
