Garden Bloggers' Muse Day

May

'Tis like the birthday of the world,

When earth was born in bloom;

The light is made of many dyes,

The air is all perfume:

There's crimson buds, and white and blue,

The very rainbow showers

Have turned to blossoms where they fell,

And sown the earth with flowers.
- Thomas Hood

Happy Birthday, world !  And to me and Judy Collins, TimMcGraw and Rita Coolidge, all born on the 1st of May !

  1. Ah the lovely month of May. We awoke to morning sun, balmy breezes through the open window, and migratory birds at our feeder. This is God's idea of poetry.

  2. Happy Birthday, Carolyn! What better way to mark it than with Violas? I hope you have a bodacious day and a wonderful year of gardening.

  3. Happy birthday Carolyn. Those are the right kind of blues for today :)

    I've gone for white instead this month.

  7. Happy Birthday, Carolyn! You certainly are in good company on May 1:) The poem describes May so well--April showers have certainly produced a bounty of May flowers. Sorry I didn't participate this month--we have a big wedding coming up this weekend. I'll join in for June for sure!
