FROM 80 TO 40 or FROM MAY TO MARCH

Baby it's Cold Outside

There's no global warming in Chicago this year. On Memorial Day we had a very nice summery day of 80 degrees and everyone was able to be outside and enjoy their BBQ's.

Come Tuesday the temps plunged into the 40's. I was freezing my arse but didn't cancel the landscaping job I had scheduled.

Wish some of you folks down South would blow some of that sunshine up here.

  1. If I could, I'd ship a whole mess of Texas heat your way, Carolyn Gail. Today feels a little cooler, but we've had high 90s and even a 100 degree day or two for the past week.

  2. Amazing isn't it? Wearing shorts and T-shirt one day and jeans, sweatshirt AND Carhart jacket the next!

  3. We have had some lovely cool weather here too. When we had an 80 degree day we also had 100% humidity. I can do without that too. UGH...

  4. Sorry--I'm in NC freezing my arse off too. I came home and labored over turning the switch on to the gas fireplace. Only one more day at the big box. But I worked in the cold rain all day. I was chilled to the bone. I'm sending warm thoughts your way though and wishing you would take back this cold front. Oh--I'm working on my blog too--It should be up and running soon.

  6. But it's "dry heat" isn't it Pam? What's that like - sticking your head in an oven ? :)
Tell you what I'll meet your halfway -I'll start sending some frosty air if you'll send me some Texas heat.

  7. I've got two wardrobes side by side-shorts on one side and jeans on the other. Layering is the only way to dress these days. Thanks for visiting, Laura.

  8. Yes, Lisa, that 80 degrees was very humid wasn't it ? I used the opportunity to give my dogs a nice cool bath.

Hope you've got some of that warmth back by now.

  10. Thanks, Allison. I've been trying to keep warm by working up a little gardening sweat.

  11. Not just Chicago, Carolyn, if it's any comfort--the weather here has been crappy by times the past few days. Currently we're having a major drownpour and I have the woodstove blasting heat! on June 1st (it's just turned that here.) Humbug.

    Better days is comin'....
