GARDEN BLOGGERS' BLOOM DAY : A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT

Just got back home from Sweet Carolina where believe it or not, even the azaleas are in bloom.

Above are some of the incredible scenes in Blowing Rock, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains where Anna Flowergardengirl  was kind enough to take me on a tour.

Speaking of Anna, here are some shots of her gorgeous home and garden :

Anna is a true Southern Belle who can charm the wart off a frog.   We are now Soul Sisters, both of us have hazel eyes and birthdays in early May, so we're a lot alike.  She was the perfect hostess and I was welcomed to her home as if I were a long lost relative.

Back to reality in Chicago where my poor neglected garden and hubby are vying for attention.   I'm married to an Engineer who doesn't know how to operate a vacuum or a garden sprinkler.  I have a lot of catching up to do.

  2. How cool that you got to visit with Anna, Carolyn! So glad you had a good trip and are safely home.

Isn't it nice to be needed. . . ;) I'm sure you'll quickly put things to rights.

  3. So happy that you enjoyed your visit! I certainly did enjoy our afternoon together.

The weather isn't so hot as the day we were out and about. Fall has arrived.

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful visit, Carolyn; Anna's front porch looks so inviting. My husband isn't an engineer, but he, too, hasn't mastered the simple equipment in our house:) Enjoy the rest of this beautiful autumn while it lasts!

  5. Hey there!
I love Blowing Rock, NC! Thanks for the tour. It's one of our favorite family spots, especially the rocky river that flows through the village. Isn't is a small world. Happy GBBD!

  6. Lovely gardens, and apart from the blooms I especially liked the rustic garden furniture.

My son is studying engineering at university. I made sure he was familiar with the workings of a vacuum cleaner before he left home, and I 'test' him on it in the holidays. As in, 'can you hoover the house today, please?'
