GARDEN BLOGGERS' MUSE DAY

Indoor Gardener

A February wind blows dismally,

The sky is full of dark clouds hanging low,

The garden lies in numbed frigidity

And waits the falling of another snow.

Today, I planted seeds despite the cold,

For my tomato plants will mind it not

Their tiny leaves will presently unfold

At my south window; in a flower pot!

  1. Carolyn, "numbed frigidity" just about sums it up! Love the idea of seeds sheltering inside, waiting for sunny days that will surely come - stay warm!

  2. Love the miniature garden, Carolyn and what a perfect poem for this frigid February's Muse day. Heartening to see life emerging in their windowsill gardens. Have planted my first GBMD seed today.

  4. What a cute little vignette. :-) Absolutely with you on the numbed frigidity! Very cold and icy today. I'm not sure I should attempt to go out. However, Mr. Shady did - in his big truck. Post is up!

  6. It's a little warmer today in England Carolyn after a big freeze over the past few days and it's that time of year when we make those of you across the pond sigh with envy at the tiny flowers starting to peep through the soil ;)

I hope you've not been too affected by the 'mother of all storms' I've heard about today.

  7. I do like that little garden encapsulated in a pot. Almost spring like weather in north west England today :) My February muse is now posted.

  9. What a sweet little garden, Carolyn. It's a whole back yard at your fingertips. Great choice of verse, as well.
